Melanotaenia catherinae

Dieser kleinbleibende Regenbogenfisch stammt von der Insel Waigeo, die westlich vor der Küste Neuguineas liegt. Die Art ist schon seit langer Zeit in der Aquaristik, aber immer nur in kleinen Beständen. Dabei ist sie attraktiv und leicht zu halten. Eine Haltung im Artenbecken ist zwar vorzuziehen, eine Vergesellschaftung mit anderen kleiner bleibenden Arten ist jedoch auch möglich.

This small Rainbowfish species originates from the island of Waigeo west off the coast of New Guinea. This species is in the hobby for a long time, but always in small numbers. It is an attractive and easy-to-keep species. Preferably it should be kept in a species tank, but a community tank with other small species is possible.
