Melanotaenia fredericki „Kali Klawai“

Eine attraktive Form von M. fredericki kommt aus dem Kali Klawai am Unterlauf des Sungai Warsamsum (auch Sungai (River) Samson oder Sungai Warsamson genannt). Über den Namen des Flusses lässt sich trefflich streiten, selbst die Einheimischen sind sich darüber nicht einig. Nicht weit vom Fundort entfernt beginnt bereits der Mündungsbereich des Flusses ins Meer. „Kali Klawai“ hat eine gelbe Körperfarbe, einen schönen blauen Rücken und gelb-rosa Flossen. Jungtiere kommen im Artenbecken der Elterntiere ohne großes Zutun des Pflegers hoch.
