Melanotaenia fredericki „Kali Klademak“

Diese ungewöhnliche Form von M. fredericki kommt aus dem Kali Klademak im Stadtgebiet von Sorong. Dort fließt ein kleiner Bach durch das Ureinwohner-Dorf Worot, das im Laufe der Jahre von der Stadt Sorong umwachsen wurde. Dieser Bach entspringt in den Hügeln über Sorong, fließt durch Worot und mündet dann in den Sungai Warsamsum. Der hier beschriebene Fisch kommt nur im Oberlauf dieses Baches vor. Der weitere Verlauf ist durch Sandabbau massiv geschädigt, weiter unterhalb kommen Abwassereinleitungen hinzu. „Kali Klademak“ ist die einzige bekannte Form von M. fredericki mit blauer Körperfarbe. Hinzu kommen rosafarbene Flossen. Die Art ist leicht zu halten. Jungtiere kommen im Artenbecken ohne großes Zutun des Pflegers hoch.

This unusual form of M. fredericki, originates from Kali Klademak in the middle of the city of Sorong. A small creek flows through the native peoples´s village Worot which was enclosed by the city of Sorong over the years. This creek has its spring in the foothills over Sorong, flows through Worot and enters in Warsamson River. This fish originates only in the upper reaches of this creek. The lower parts are massively damaged through sand extraction and sewage inlets. “Kali Klademak” is the only known form of M. fredericki with blue body colour. The fins are pink. This form is easy to keep, Young fish appear in a species tank without any effort.
