Melanotaenia fredericki „Kali Klawai“

Eine attraktive Form von M. fredericki kommt aus dem Kali Klawai am Unterlauf des Sungai Warsamsum, auch Sungai (River) Samson oder Sungai Warsamson genannt. Über den Namen des Flusses lässt sich trefflich streiten, selbst die Einheimischen sind sich darüber nicht einig. Nicht weit vom Fundort entfernt beginnt bereits der Mündungsbereich des Flusses ins Meer. „Kali Klawai“ hat eine gelbe Körperfarbe, einen schönen blauen Rücken und gelb-rosa Flossen. Jungtiere kommen im Artenbecken ohne großes Zutun des Pflegers hoch.

This is an attractive form of M. fredericki, originating from a little river at the lowest reaches of Sungai Warsamum, also called Sungai (River) Samson or Sungai Warsamson. This river has many names even under the native people. The estuary of this river begins shortly after the collection place, but this place is still permanently in freshwater. “Kali Klawai” has a nice yellow body colour, a blue back and yellow-pink fins. Young fish appear in a species tank without any effort.
