Melanotaenia splendida inornata „Cato River“

Diese außergewöhnlich schöne Form des Gescheckten Regenbogenfisches konnte ich 2024 in einem Sumpf am Unterlauf des Cato River im östlichen Arnhemland in Australien fangen und erfolgreich exportieren. Der Körper der Männchen hat eine blaue Reflexfarbe, die Flossen sind rot-blau gezeichnet. Das Foto zeigt ein junges Männchen, das längst noch nicht die Schönheit eines erwachsenen Tieres erreicht hat.

I was really lucky to be able to catch and successfully export this exceptionally beautiful form of the spotted rainbowfish in 2024 in a swamp on the lower reaches of the Cato River in eastern Arnhem Land in Australia. The body of the males has a blue reflex colour, the fins are red-blue. The photo shows a young male that has not yet reached the beauty of an adult animal.
