Pseudomugil spec. „Bloodwood Billabong“

Diese noch unbeschriebene Blauaugen-Art stammt aus einem Billabong (Wasserloch) am Oberlauf des Daly River im Northern Territory, Australien. Die Verwandtschaft zu p. tenellus ist nicht zu übersehen, durch DNA-Analyse wurde jedoch festgestellt, dass es sich um eine eigene Art handelt. Im Vergleich mit P. tenellus sind die Farben kräftiger und die Flossen dunkler mit weißen Flecken. Dies ist ein sehr schöner Schwarmfisch für ein Artenbecken. Die Männchen imponieren den ganzen Tag und es ist immer Aktivität zu beobachten.

This undescribed Blueeye species originates from a billabong (waterhole) at the headwaters of the Daly River in the Northern Territory, Australia. The relationship to P. tenellus cannot be overlooked, but DNA analysis has shown that it is a separate species. In comparison with P. tenellus, the colors are more intense and the fins darker with white spots. This is a very beautiful schooling fish for a species tank. The males show off all day long and there is always activity to be observed.
